CROP INFORMATION DAY

A very successful farmers day was held on 22 March 2011 at Huntersvlei. This annual farmers day was attended by at least 60 farmers or interested people. Most of these farmers use the result from these extensive trials to assist the in their decision taking process.
For the first time Soybeans formed part of the trials and a lot of interest was shown in the plant population trials. The OMNIA fertilizer trials focussed on micro elements, either as an addition to liquid fertilizer or as a foliar spray.
Different fungicides were also tested as a preventative application to combat Grey Leaf spot, which seems to be an increasing problem in our production area.
